Twos & Threes began during a particularly inspiring cross-country roadtrip during the late summer of 2002.
In making portraits, it is difficult and often awkward for a stranger to open him/herself to the camera, especially if experience being photographed is slim. When confronting the camera in groups, it is easier to pose with strength and confidence. It is an exercise in losing oneself.
